A Follow-up Post

Yesterday I wrote about my massive lack of craftiness (let me just explain that – I can be craft but not in an arts and crafts kind of way!).

Anyway, I was quite shocked to see that some of you actually disputed my lack of craft-appeal!  Thanks for believing in me, but really, there’s no need…and here I shall explain why (although, I’m pretty sure I’ve written this story already but I have gone through the archives here and at the old site and cannot find it anywhere!!).

A long long time ago….when the Secret Keeper was just knee-high to a grasshopper (yet another saying that makes little sense to me!) she decided to copy her big sister and do some fancy painting one day.

My sister, who we shall call Ju-Ju (because that’s what I called her when I was little and couldn’t say her name properly – that was also around the same time I used to call radiators the radio!), was minding her own business (when I say minding her own business I mean she was trying to make me look bad!) painting a beautiful and traditional fruit bowl (she also did a vase of flowers which was pretty good too!).  I rocked up to the table where she was painting (in a badass, super cool, little sister way), grabbed some paper and paints and set about painting something AMAZING for my dad!

I started with the bowl!  Then I realised that I really couldn’t paint ANYTHING!  I was more of a bright kid than an arty one (I now wish I had more of the crafty genes than the intelligent genes!).  So…I filled that bowl with tomato soup (because that was dad’s favourite!).  Oh, what I mean was I painted the inside of the bowl red, I didn’t actually pour tomato soup on it.

See, this is how un-crafty I am!  How can someone even be this un-crafty?

I’ve been over-dosing on sister bonding time lately (hence all my feelings of self-loathing and inadequacy towards crafty jazz) and so I have some good little treats for Family Friday(we had a further discussion on vagina wonderwebbing last night!  Delightful).  I’d just like to ensure that you are all picturing Family Friday in the correct manner.  When you read Family FridayI expect it to be said in an over-enthusiastic 80s gameshow manner.  This is the kind of thing you should be imagining (not me loving on my family!)….

Seriously, it could never be disputed that we had the best gameshows!

Visit my Etsy store.  Did I tell you that already?  Oh well!
