Before making a return to blogging I did a fair amount of Google Reader “house keeping” and catching up with blogs I love / finding new blogs to love. The one massive thing I noticed was the amount of blogs either closed down or no longer being posted on. Is this something that regularly happens in the blogosphere over the winter? Having not regularly blogged over winter before I don’t have a clue!! It’s quite sad, a large number of my favourites have now gone…hopefully not forever.
I find it all a bit strange. Why to a large number of bloggers disappear in the winter? I would’ve thought the opposite would happen to be honest. With the cold and miserable weather (in most of the world) you’d think people would be encouraged to stay in and snuggle with the internet and then the summer would be the perfect time to split up with your new blog friends in favour of a skimpy bikini, hot boys and a beautiful beach.
I’m very confused by it all.

End of year blues, perhaps?
I don’t know myself. I pretty much sticked around in the blogosphere all year and they disappeared one by one. The reasons are many : blogging is too overwhelming, they’re troubled and lose the blogging mojo, or life get in the way, etc. It’s sad though.
A couple of months back there was a phase where tons of bloggers just seemed to quit – some said they were doing so, others just disappeared. Don’t know if they’ll be back. It can be pretty sad sometimes though – like losing a friend!

I know!! I know I was MIA but I did leave a temporary ‘goodbye’ note and still checked in here and there occasionally!
I know! So many people just stopped – not sure what happened, though I do think a lot of bloggers put a lot of pressure on themselves to post regularly, which turns it into a chore, rather than something that is meant to be enjoyable. Either way – as I’ve said before, I’m glad we’re both back. (Actually, I’ve noticed a few missing bloggers have returned, so that’s a good thing!)

You know I think 2009 was the year ppl left and 2010 is the year people are coming back. I know I left because it was too much, I was too busy and I couldn’t handle it. But I did miss you very much girlie! This will be my second attempt, but I believe it will be successful. plus, i can only think of a few ppl who have left, who else has left?
I totally agree. 2010 is the year for comebacks!
Well since i was a blogger who left, i’ll give you the inside scoop. life can sometimes be too much to handle, and sometimes its too much to share your life with others. but id like to make a comeback. even if I can only post once a week for now. ps- missed your face girlie
