Vote for Bravestarr in the Great Puppy Naming Contest!

Today’s post was going to be a bullet-pointed list of the weekends events (and why I slacked at posting), but it wasn’t until I was halfway to work that I realised I’d forgotten my camera lead (as my work PC doesn’t have a card slot – useless!) and I’d also forgotten my phone (so there’s a chance I might do some work today – but very little tweeting!).  There was a point to this…today’s intended post has visual aids!  So, that post is going to have to wait until tomorrow and instead I shall be putting forward my puppy naming campaign.

If you don’t already know then go here and have a little readsie!  In short though, JPP is getting a puppy and wants help with a name.  Last week readers commented with their name suggestions, the fabulous JPP has short listed these and there’s a poll…yes, I know we all love polls!

Here’s where we begin…

BRAVESTARR

Seriously, if you never watched this I’m not sure I can be friends with you any longer.

Recently, thanks to Miss Rambles post on the subject, I have been reliving my TV favourites of the 80s and 90s.  Kids TV was so much better back then!  With the likes of He-Man, Transformers, Sharkey & George, Thundercats, Captain Planet, Care Bears, My Little Pony, Rainbow Bright, Trapdoor, Fraggle Rock….I could actually go on about these for days and this would include singing the theme tune from each (which I did whilst typing their names).

Bravestarr was my favourite because he had the best theme tune ever!  Honestly, what’s better than an amazing theme tune???  I’ll tell you what’s better…pretty much NOTHING!

In brief…Bravestarr takes place on a planet known as “New Texas”.  It’s population is the “prairie people” (who are basically cartoon dogs) and it is Bravestarr’s (and the other heroes, but they’re less important) job is to guard the planets Kerium (a very special mineral type thing) from the space cowboys (much like cowboy builders) who try to steal it…every episode!  New Texas also has a large Solacow ranching community (they’re much like normal cows).

A few deets:

Name:  Galactic Marshall A.K.A Bravestarr

Title:  Defender

Power:  Spirit Animal Powers (are you seeing why this should be a great puppy name?  Sorry, had you forgotten that was why I was going on about this!?)

Sidekick:  Thirty-Thirty – a pony with an energy rifle he calls Sarah Jane.

And for the grand finale we end with the theme tune…the BEST THEME TUNE EVER that is…I shall post the words at the bottom for your delight.

Bravestarr
Bravestarr

In a distant time
And far away place
The planet New Texas floats deep in space.
Sky of three suns
Land of precious ore
The Kerium brought outlaws by the score.

Bravestarr
Bravestarr

Then one day, a lawman appeared
With powers of hawk, wolf, puma and bear
Protector of peace, mystic man from afar
Champion of justice, Marshall Bravestarr!

Bravestarr
BRAVESTARR!
Eyes of the hawk, ears of the wolf

Bravestarr
BRAVESTARR!
Strength of the bear, speed of the puma

Bravestarr
BRAVESTARR

Don’t forget, when singing along you must pronounced “puma” like “pooooooooma”.

That’s all!

Now go to JPP and vote for the freakin best name ever…BRAVESTARRRRRR!  And make sure he gets the theme tune he deserves!

@ JPP – why thank you! I aim to please! Cavy is a harder campaigner though, she’s tweeting the shiz out of it! I just can’t compete (because I forgot my phone!!).

If I fail at campaigning I might become a politician or something (it’s the sneaky in me!) x
