Written Yesterday…but Finished Today!

It’s a historical fact that women take forever to get ready.  For anything.  Be it dinner, a movie or just for work.  Ok, so it’s not actually a fact, more something that a man made up to make women look bad.  Yes.  That sounds better.

Anyhoo, I tend to buck trends so why not this one as well?  Its well document (in my mind) that I am a super fast get-ready-er!  It’s generally a half hour job (if I’m not showering) and perhaps an hour if I do shower.

Just lately, with the cold weather and two duvets, I’ve been struggling to prise myself from bed in the mornings.  This morning was no exception.

I had precisely 18 minutes to get ready for work this morning.  I did it in 15!  I was so amazed I felt the need to share it with you.  I woke up at 07:57 and my route to 08:15 is as follows:

Quick face wash, dressed for work, make-up on, quick coffee, coat, shoes and scarf on and I’m ready to go.  I was a tiny bit worried I’d forgot my knickers or something as important, but hey ho, life goes on!

Unfortunately my lift to work was 5 minutes late!  So the fact that I got ready in precisely 15 minutes went to waste.

I must add that the entire time I was getting ready and waiting for G-chatting to Stabby McStabberson on my iPhone (Google Buzz lets you do this!) from 07:57 right through until 08:20!

Are you a quick dresser?  Have you ever needed to dress quickly for anything other than work?  I bet you have!!

Today is my “induction” for the new job so I might actually be able to tell you something about it shortly!!  I say “induction” but what it really means is I make a cup of tea and sit and watch someone do “stuff”.  Sounds great, no?

I can get ready in 15 minutes. My husband actually takes longer time than me.

It also takes me half an hour to get ready if i don’t shower, or 1 hour if I do! I think I’m pretty good…except last week it took me a long time bc i hated my makeup and needed a re-do…i was afraid blog boy would get impatient but we joked about it. phew!

In the mornings I always allow myself 45 minutes to get ready – hair, make-up, getting dressed (and breakfast if there’s time). If I want to wash my hair, I need to allow myself another 45 minutes.

And if I’m going on a night out, I tend to start the preparation about eight hours beforehand because i like to do one thing (ie shower) and then have a rest for half an hour before going onto the next thing.

High maintenance? Moi? Of course not…

Even with showering I can dress up pretty fast. It’s scary, I think
